Dirt

In gray perspective,
upright man sees transparent gates rising over head
Rising over age
Defiant, reliant
Recalls steps
Asks for something for anyone
Gives a reason to beg
And unbelieve
And talk
And talk
And talk
And so beats the eardrum,
Then perceives vibrations in the heart.
Become smaller to reach farther
Sip blood to taste sound
Be clever, be charming, be infinite
Pull out the steel and amble through
That cemetery of the past...
Bones are buried
But lift those heels,
For the dead are silent,
Reach violent,
Move, still.
