i had a dream my family was languidly lounging
they were all clean and shining and eating fruit
but i had been swimming in some tepid, stagnant pond.
they tried to give me a shaved pineapple
but i could not eat it for all the blood in my mouth.
a chicken with its steak cut off
a steak with its chicken cut off
i was trying to call out
in my sleep.
